Taken from the Alderney Tourism site:

“The island of Alderney has all the winning ingredients. Just 3kms wide and 5kms long, situated in the English Channel off the Normandy Coast, it has a fascinating history, stunning scenery, beautiful beaches and excellent cuisine. In fact, the island is renowned for its larger-than-life lobster and crab and gourmets have the opportunity to test their taste-buds during the annual Alderney Seafood Festival in May.
With more than 50 miles of walks and paths taking you across commons, beaches, along the cliffs and around town, the best way to discover Alderney is on foot. You can also take a boat trip to see the abundant bird life on the island and its nearby islets, including puffins, fulmars, guillemots and peregines.”

. .

What will we do?

This might vary little depending on the group and weather at the time.

  • Link up with Alderney Wildlife
  • Boat trip out to see Puffins, Guillemots, seals & much more
  • Sit-on-top kayaks with clear bottoms to explore the life under the water.
  • If we are lucky we may see one of Alderney’s famous inhabitants, the Blond Hedgehog
  • Linking up with the local sailing club to have a sailing lesson in their boats.
  • The Scout’s on the island have offered us the use of their Scout hut
  • There are a fantastic number of German fortifications, all intact. We will be going inside & exploring some of these.
  • Coastal walks
